2014 Grants
  • ​Burns Paiute Tribe, Tu-Wa-Kii-Nobi Program was awarded $1,100.00 for the Nurturing the Dying Art of Northern Paiute Cradle-boards project. This project involves about 20 Paiute families working together over a period of 6 months (January through June) with each family producing a traditional cradle-board.
  • The Harney County Arts & Crafts Association was awarded $740.00 for its event banner and sign board project. This project will purchase banners and signs to advertise public HCACA events such as the quilt and art show in July. The all-purpose banners would be mounted at the entrance and exit to Burns-Hines, and A-frame easel signs would be put at strategic locations on the sidewalk. ​​
  • The Crane Union High School was awarded $1,000.00 for art display units. This project involves purchasing a transportable display system that allows student art to be displayed with lighting, indoors or outdoors, to the public.
  • The Harney County Arts in Education Foundation was awarded $1,000.00 to support high school and middle school bands by assisting in providing sheet music and in the maintenance of school-owned band instruments.​​​
  • The Kids Club of Harney County was awarded $1,000.00 for a culinary cultural awareness project that would provide culinary cultural awareness to 40 youth once a month for a year. The requested funds would be used to provide cooking equipment and supplies to provide “hands on” experience in the traditional dishes of different cultures​
  • Western Reflections, was awarded $1,160.00 through its fiscal sponsor, the Harney County 4-H Leaders Association. The project is a 1-day public event which would showcase cowboy poetry; the writing of the Western Pleasure Writers 4-H Club; the Harney Basin Writers; and professional cowboy poetry entertainers.

2015 Grants
  • The Harney County Opportunity Team was awarded $1,500 to help complete the Arrowhead Plaza project. The plaza is an extension of the Community Center and will provide a respite for residents and visitors as well as a venue for concerts and other performances and scientific and educational lectures.
  • Steens Mountain Ballet was awarded $1,200 to enable the ballet company to purchase its own sound equipment. Also, backdrops for its annual Nutcracker performance will be rented.
  • The Steens Mountain Men received an award of $1,200 to purchase 3-D targets for the annual Yellowjacket Rendezvous Primitive Archery
  • The Chamber Music Society of Harney County was awarded $1,500. The money will be used to purchase sheet music for performances in 2015 and fund a workshop to help youth further their musical ambitions.
  • Mary Lou Wilhelm was awarded $1,000 for a one-day plein aire painting event. Artists will paint at Devine Canyon; their work will be completed and judged in one day and then displayed to the public. There will be no charge to artists.

2016 Grants
